Why did you start this blog?
I originally started blogging during my year abroad in France. In 2016 I was a Rotary Exchange Student in Chambéry, France. I lived with a host family, went to a French high school, go to travel to 12 different countries in Europe. During my year abroad in Chambéry, France I kept a blog where I wrote about my experiences, took pictures, and created videos. I visited 9 countries and many cities in Europe. This sparked the creation of Adventures of an Américaine, my travel blog. I created this blog to show my family and friends back home in the USA and Brazil what I experienced. Blogging about my experiences as I traveled became a hobby that I really enjoyed and hope to continue sharing my stories wherever life will take me!
I never planned on living in France, let alone learning French, but it just kind of happened. Thanks to my Portuguese and Spanish language background, learning French was a breeze! Well not really… it took a lot of hard work and effort. By my 11th month of living in France, I was able to sucessfully pass a French Language Examination test and be certified as an “official french speaker.” 😉
What’s your nationality?
I am Brazilian on my mom’s side and American on my dad’s side. I was born and raised in the United States, but have traveled many times to Brazil to visit family and friends. I feel very lucky to be able to call both of these countries by home.
What are you studying in college?
I am currently a Freshman at the Univeristy of Tampa studying International Business and Marketing. I really enjoy creating content, blogging, & digital media, and would love to turn that into my future job!
